== Requirements ==

During PHP install, i had to install following dependency with yum. You may need more depending on what modules you have already installed. If configure fail with error, install devel package for that module.

Latest PHP version as on 23-Dec-2015

tar xf php-5.5.30.tar.gz
</pre>

ldconfig
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php-fpm \

== Use Socket Instead of TCP Port ==

It is better to use sockets instead of TCP port to run php-fpm.

<pre>
vi /usr/local/php-fpm/etc/php-fpm.conf
</pre>

Find

<pre>
listen = 127.0.0.1:9000
</pre>

Replace With

<pre>
listen = /var/run/php-fpm.sock
</pre>

In your nginx.conf

<pre>
vi /etc/nginx/nginx.conf
</pre>

Find

<pre>
fastcgi_pass   127.0.0.1:9000;
</pre>

Replace With

<pre>
fastcgi_pass  unix:/var/run/php-fpm.sock;
</pre>
